Today is a normal Wednesday. Kids to school just after 8am, clean the kitchen, make my bed, hang out with Arnold, plan my errands, go on errands.... today, I picked up some supplies for Emma's birthday party this Friday. She has a beach theme and will play games and have cake. What more could a girl ask for? Wondering how many more years she will want to have parties like this. I also made a trip out to Midway to talk to a photo preservation specialist. He was super helpful and I'm thinking of having him make a custom photo album for my parents wedding pictures. The ones they currently have are over 50 years old... can I say acid deterioration?! I will have to see what they want to do, I suppose.
I rushed home from Midway later then I had hoped and conveniently unlocked our front door with my Vivint app on my iPhone. Oh so easy! Emma called when she got home to find me. I came home a few minutes later and they were doing their homework on the front porch (they love the sunshine) with snack bowls, etc. I'm so lucky to have such great kids.
Last night we went to the AIM awards piano recital. Emma was chosen to play one of her pieces, and they both got medals for their efforts. They compete in performance, creative musicianship, theory, ear training and technique. They both scored over 90%. I'm very proud of them. All of that takes a lot of work and they did it!!!
After the recital, we went to Macaroni Grill at the Riverwoods for dessert. Emma and I started that tradition last year when she finished level 1.
